Hard to Be Me
One weekend I was running the
overhead projection for my church. It was the third service and I found mind
wandering off. I had been feeling down lately and I was frustrated because I
knew exactly why I was down and still couldn’t recover. This song definitely helped
though. There is just something therapeutic about putting your thoughts on
paper… then finding a good tune for them! I had the song written before church
was over and I recorded it a few days later.

Good Times
As a songwriter you always feel
some what exposed. When you are proud of a song you want to show the world… or
whoever will listen. By doing that though you are basically letting someone
read your diary. If I were Caedmons Call I could
write it so that you wouldn’t really know what I was talking about. However, I
prefer the songwriting styles of Ross King or Billy Joel, for example. Just put
it out there and let it speak for itself.

Lord You Are
Another Jonathan Dunn classic. A simple prayer of thanks to the Lord. For
everything I need, desire and long for, He is.
This was one of the first songs I
recorded in my home studio.

Trust and Obey
I have always loved this song and
recorded a version of it for my first album. However I was in a rush to finish
that album because I was moving to
Darin – Lead and Choir vocals
Right Beside
Me
The song literally came to me in
my sleep. I woke up with the melody in my head and then started to figure out
what the song was going to be about. As I went about the day I began to write
some lyrics about my life and how God has always been faithful to me. Jackie’s
beautiful violin was the perfect touch to finish it.

Way to Go
I wrote this a few years ago as a
gift to my parents for their anniversary. I am so blessed to have such great
parents who raised me on the Bible.
